Hair Removal Ceremony

Have you been to Toronto lately?
gumbo trout
chicken hair
britches tear where they tear
it’s the little dipper
and crystal slipper
city never cleaner
or residents meaner
shuffling feet with no toes
woods cleared out for the does
rich poor making lunch
lowest sweetmeat by the bunch
driving for a spell
accelerate to hell
choking turtledoves
city sapsick loves
elsewhere……
jackson pollock in shadows
paints and thinners side by side
some call for removal
others demanding approval
painters and poets babies all
mimes and princesses short and tall
surprises
sunrises
muddy waters
a hand shivers
until………..
the canvas sops up blood
on another poor boys apartment floor
“Give us another impression J.J.”
while his ceremony’s scheduled for Sunday
waiting for payday
in the big dipper.
The Pollock reference didn’t work.
