Get Body Smooth For Summer – DIY Hair Removal That Works

Hair removal is big business. For many women, it is an obsession. This quest for hairlessness can be expensive, painful and time consuming. Here are the main DIY methods that will see you through summer.

Salon laser treatment is expensive, but a new home version is now available. IPL (intensed pulse light) systems give the best results by destroying the hair follicles. Home IPl machines tackle body hair for good. They are not difficult to use and are much better value than the salon alternative. These are not the best solution if you are in a hurry – they can be time consuming and repeated treatments are required.

Hair removal cream is easy to apply, achieves quick results, and no longer comes with an icky odour. Spray on versions make the job less messy so you do not need to use your hands.

Home wax kits now come in sensitive skin versions, to help calm irritated skin. Sugar wax is great for inexperienced waxers, and it even washes off if you chicken out half way through.

My own favourite is the epilator, although many people find these painful. Generally the pain factor is similar to waxing. A new version is now available which claims to ease the sore feeling, and can be used in the bath or shower.

Razors have come a long way too and are great in an emergency. Expect a close, smooth shave without nicks.

For facial hair removal, threading is becoming more widely available and popular. This can be painful but the results are fantastic. Hair also grow back finer and far slower than any other form of facial hair removal. Even if you are sceptical, it really is worth a try.
