Can cosmetologists specialize in esthetic services?
Hey everyone, can cosmetologists specialize in esthetic services? Like chemical peels, body wraps, Hair Removal, laser/light therapy, facials, microdermbrasion, etc? Or are they simply two different titles?
Red- Hmm, there is this school I’d love to go, they have two programs- Cosmetology and Esthetician. And reading up on the Cosmetology program, they say they “also do esthetic services such as facials and makeup application” but I’m like, what about chemical peels, body wraps, etc etc? You know?
I wanna do EVERYTHING!
Yep. Cosmetology is the study of Hair, Skin and Nails. Once a Cosmetologist graduates from School, They can do everything but Massage. The only difference is they don’t have a Esthetics license, So really, They are more of a Skin Specialist. But all in all, It’s the same thing. Just different names.

Chemical Peels may be dangerous specially if you use those high concentrations of Glycolic Acid.;:”
