dark hair dye removal?

i have had highlights for a while now and didnt like them anymore, so i decided to dye my hair back to its natural hair colour(dark brown). the box of hair dye looked EXACTLY like my natural hair colour so i got it. when i dyed my hair it turned out darker than my natural colour, and since i had a lot of highlihgts my hair got a redish purple tinge.
my question: how can i get rid of this hair dye or fade it using ONLY a natural remedy with stuff i can find at home? and will these remedies work on removing the highlights?

You can do one of two things, to remove most of that dye.

1. By using Tide detergent with shampoo
