Hair Removal Needles

Mole removal process?
I would like to have a few moles removed, but I’m unsure as to what the process is. Is it something I can have done at the doctor’s surgery, in a normal appointment? What pain relief/numbing is involved (I have this horrid image of a needle directly into the mole in question)? And finally, one of the moles I wish to have removed is on my scalp. Will the doctor have to shave the hair around the mole in order to remove it? Or will it be ok if I simply part my hair on the mole for easy access?
BTW I have no concerns that they are cancerous. My hemotologist had a look at all my moles (when she was looking at cancer as a possible reason for my DVT’s) and she had no problems with them.
I’ve had about ten moles removed in my life. There are different methods, all of them involving a quick shot to the area to numb it. The scalp, depending on how large the mole is, might need a small area shaved, or the hair parted. Either way, in my experience, the area is sore for about a week following the removal, but any dermatologist should be able to remove it within the span of five minutes. Mine removed three in that amount of time! A quick shot to numb each area, a deft cut of the scalpel, and you’re done! Nothing to worry about.
Good luck!
-Edit: I’ve never heard of laser mole removal; sounds like overkill to me. The scalpel is in and out, and with the nerves numb it’s painless. The area is just sore for a week or less.
