Is laser Hair Removal safe and effective?

I’m getting Laser Hair Removal on my face and underarms and I’m 17 years old. I was wondering if my age will effect the results. Also, the laser hair removal doctor (sorry I forgot the correct term ) said that there will be swelling, bruising, tanning and some other things as well as the fact that my skin will become super sensitive to heat and the sun. So I’m assuming it’s gonna hurt quite a lot. Has anyone else had laser hair removal? Did it hurt? And am I too young?

I got laser hair removal on my under arms when i was 19 i am now 25 and it is still gone. I didn’t go for all my sessions so i do have some hair but it is really thin and very little. It felt like when you accidentally get shocked in the electrical outlet. They did it so fast i remember smelling burnt hair they did have to stop when they got closer to the part of the arm pit closer to the face that part is sensitive. I was tensing up so they stopped. They told me it works best on light skin and dark hair which i have so i don’t know if that is why mine took. I had a guy friend that is kind of dark with dark hair who lasered under his chin and neck and all the hair grew back as though he never did it. Good luck
