Sugaring Hair Removal Brands

Waxing/Hair Removal at home with sensitive skin?

I’m 21 and have been getting my legs waxed for a few years now at a salon. It is starting to get too expensive so I was thinking about trying something at home. I have REALLY sensitive skin and I was hoping someone could reccommend a specific type and/or brand of product to deal with my leg hair.

It isn’t really thick because I have been waxing for so long. I know there are some different kinds of wax….hot? cold? sugar? What is the best for sensitive skin?

Also, has anyone tried nair or any of those dissolving creams? Is that bad for you?

Thanks!

If you’re used to the long lasting results of waxing, I wouldn’t go over to a hair removing cream like Nair because it only takes hair even with the skin, like shaving. You can read my review of Nair Shower Power Moisturizing: http://hairremoval.about.com/b/2008/05/04/nair-shower-power-yeah-or-nay.htm

I have used hot and cold wax, and hot works a lot better because it adheres better to the hair and is less messy than cold. Now there are a lot of different hot waxes, I would suggest a cream wax because it works the best for sensitive skin, which like one of the other posts says you can buy from Sally Beauty Supply. I like GiGi Creme Wax.

Sugaring isn’t a wax, but is performed similarly to waxing, and is a wonderful option for sensitive skin. You can even make your own paste at home which saves a ton of money. http://hairremoval.about.com/od/sugarwaxing/a/sugaring101.htm

But remember, the person doing your waxing might make it look easy, but it’s not, especially on yourself. You can also try going to a beauty school which does waxing for a fraction of salon prices.

I hope this helps!
