Transgender Health Insurance?
Does anyone know of a health insurance plans in the United States, which would cover some of the medical costs associated the treatment of Gender Identity Disorder through male-to-female? Medicine, surgery, therapy, Hair Removal, nothing? If this will not cost me thousands and tens of thousands of dollars and I'll probably eventually move to Canada, where people are not so hateful. PS If I get an ignorant replies Hicks, who do not like my medical disease or pursue happiness, I will report you and I will laugh and feel sorry for you because you are ignorant and hateful.
I know Aetna (sp?) Insurance SRS will or a large part of the coverage. I have a friend and she has insurance and was overjoyed when she read that they will cover. However, I think the restrictions are more than normal Harry Benjamin standards of care. I think you should go through the "Real-life experience" (Life as the opposite sex) for three full years instead of just one. I also think you need to SRS in the U.S.. (And The excess will pobably more than you would pay if you are outside the country). I'm not sure, but Aetna's worth of seeking. I know Blue Cross / BlueSheild insurance is a really good group and they might have something. I do not know how much each group will be responsible for insurance, but if you co with that as a pre-existing condition. Look at Aetna, good luck. I do not think something is going to cover you for hair removal. Maybe for the medicine if you can prove to the insurance that for the establishment of a hormonal imbalance.
